Located within the close proximity of the picturesque Kullu Valley, this soaring peak makes for an ideal trekking destination and is also one of the most sought after trekking destinations in the region.

  • DAY 1

    Old Manali – Solang Valley

    Report at the base camp Old Manali in the morning, After the registration, start you trek by heading to  Solang Valley after seeking blessings at the revered Manu Temple. The shrine is dedicated to Sage Manu, believed to be the creator of the world as per Hindu mythology. Post paying homage at the shrine, move to the Solang Valley.

    Solang Valley, famous for its awe-inspiring beauty, the place looks stunning, covered in a layer of snow. Today the trek leads out of Old Manali village high above the River Beas along a well-defined path. We cross the two ancient villages of Shanag and Burua before reaching the beautiful Solang Valley which doubles as a Ski resort in winters It is the hub for many adventure activities, including paragliding, skiing and zorbing. Overnight camping in the lush green meadows  of Solang Valley

    Trek from Solang ‐ Patalsu Peak ‐ Solang

    Today, starting with an early morning trek, proceed towards the captivating Patalsu Peak (4,220m). Trek through the lush and evergreen forests from the Solang valley camp and trail through the winding and uneven terrains to reach the summit. Arriving at Patalsu Peak, enjoy the panoramic views of the Shitidhar, Friendship and Manali peaks. Curate some of the most delightful moments of your trek so far and start descending back to the campsite for an overnight stay.

What are the starting & end points of the Patalsu Peak trek?
The trek follows a circular trail that starts and ends at Solang valley in Manali.

How is the temperature during the trek?
Daytime temperatures range from 7 to 12 degrees, and nights are very cold, with temperatures dropping as low as -2 to 5 degrees. At higher altitudes, nights will be colder.

What is the best time for Patalsu Peak Trek?
Summer months of May - June and post monsoon months of September up to Mid October are ideal for the trek, as the snow level is not too high, and trails are comparatively clearer. Avoid trekking during monsoons, as landslides are very frequent, and the terrain is slippery.

What kind of clothes and equipments should I carry during Patalsu Peak trek?
Carry at least 3 warm layers including a down feather jacket, a fleece jacket, and clean thermals. Besides that, remember to carry 4 pairs of cotton socks, 2 pairs of woollen socks, 2 T-shirts, and 2 pair of trekking pants. For equipments, carry a torch, headlamp, and a trekking pole. Other necessary equipments like gaiters and crampons will be provided.

Will there be mobile connectivity during the Patalsu Peak Trek?
The base village of Manali has plenty of cell reception since it is a famous travel destination. Although, the network will fade away a few hours into the trek.

Is Diamox is advisable during the trek?
Yes, diamox can be carried along for the trek, but can be easily avoided if one takes efforts enough to acclimatize well, and regulate water intake. Before starting a course of diamox, PLEASE consult your trek leader

Is this a good trek for a first timer?
Since it gains altitudes of above 14,000 ft., trekkers need to be extremely fit. Trekkers are advised to have one experience of Himalayan trekking before attempting this trek.

What is the difficulty level of Patalsu Peak trek?
The Patalsu Peak trek falls into the ‘moderate to difficult’ category of Himalayan treks. It takes you through steep ascents, narrow ridges, and moraines, which make your trek more challenging. It demands rigorous level of fitness from trekkers in order to adapt better to the physical exertion and lower oxygen levels during the trek.

Is liquor allowed during the trek?
No, consumption of alcohol is strictly prohibited on treks. It leads to rapid dehydration, and can lead instantly to Acute Mountain Sickness. Trekkers indulging in smoking or consumption of alcohol will be asked to leave immediately.
