Route Plan: Mcleodganj-Dharamkot-Gallu Devi Temple-Triund-Bhagsu Falls – Mcleodganj
Reporting Point: You need to report at the Base Camp IYC-Mcleodganj before 10:00AM. You may inform our guide or call +918010224422 if in case of late arrival.
Best Season: January to December (Except the Monsoons in July & August – Carrying a rain coat is advisable during Monsoons)
Fixed Departure Months: January, February, March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, November and December
Group Size: 1 to 25 – Solo/groups may join the camping trekking expedition
 
Day-wise Detailed Itinerary:
Day 1 Trek from Mcleodganj to Triund(9 Kms, 4-5 Hours, 9,432 Feet)
We will start our trek from the Base Camp Mcleodganj at 10:00 AM  and move towards Triund via Dharamkot & Gallu Devi Temple through mixed forests of deodar, oak and rhododendron. Triund is situated at 9432 feet, is an easy 4 - 5 hours 9 Kms of trek and the summit offers stunning 180 degree views of the mighty Dhauladhar Himalayas , Pir Panjal Ranges, Indrahar Pass, Lahesh Caves and the entire Kangra Valley.  Dinner and Overnight Camping and stay in tents at Triund.
Day 2 Today after viewing the early morning sunrise from the Triud Hilltop, we will have tea and breakfast at our camps in Triund. We will check out from our Camps at Triund and start heading back downhill to the Base Camp Mcleodganj via Bhagsu waterfalls. We will reach the Base Camp before 02:00 PM and collect our luggage for onward journey.
You may have the option to stay back at our Base Camp in Tented or Home stay shared accommodation on Twin/Triple/Quad Sharing Basis in Mcleodganj at an additional cost of Rs.300/- Per Person depending upon the availability - one day before or one day after the Trek to Triund Hills your accommodation may be reserved.

  • Breakfast and Dinner at Triund Camps(Veg meals will be served). **We do not offer lunch as we cannot cook on the trail and a packed lunch gets soggy and spoils the experience. On the trail to Triund, there are 3 - 4 cafes that come on the way where you can snack on your own. You can leave your luggage Safely at our Base Camp at no additional charges when you go for the trek and collect the same when you return the next day.

  • No airfare or transportation or extra over and above the expedition plan.
  • No travel insurance.
  • Any expenses towards medical exigencies and other emergencies.
  • Unforeseen handling costs due to weather disturbance, landslides, political unrest.
  • Personal expenses towards tips, telephone calls, laundry, beverage etc.
  • However, all best possible assistance would be provided in case of exigencies.

How to Reach:
Distance by Road 100 Kms from Pathankot/Chakkibank
325 Kms from Chandigarh
558 Kms from Delhi. Tickets can be booked online at www.redbus.in or www.hrtc.gov.in Tip : Since Delhi Mcleodganj/Dharmashala is a long journey most Volvo private buses leave Delhi between 5 pm and 6 pm. The last govt bus leaves at 8.30 pm from ISBT Kashmere Gate. Volvo buses charges between Rs.1,000 to 1,400 per sector from Delhi to Mcleodganj/Dhramshala and vice versa. Mcleodganj/Dhramshala to Delhi: Like the onward journey, buses leave from Mcleodganj/Dhramshala to Delhi between 4 and 5 p.m. Your tentative arrival at Delhi may be anywhere between 6 a.m and 10 a.m. Plan your onward journeys only post noon giving enough buffer for bus delays.
Nearest Railway Station Pathankot or Chakkibank 100 Kms and Chandigrah – 325 Kms.
The nearest railway stations on the Simla-Kangra of narrow gauge line are at Jassur(Nurpur, Kangra, and Himachal Pradesh) and Paror railway stop near Nagrota(about 20 km south of Dharamsala).
The nearest railhead of broad gauge is at Pathankot (about 85 km) then Chandigarh about 325 Kms. Regular buses are available from Pathankot and Chandigarh to Mcleodganj/Dharamshala.
Nearest Airport Dharamshala is 20 Kms & Amritsar is 200 Kms and Jammu is 200 kms.

We would love to host you, but in case you are unable to travel as planned and need to cancel your booking, do not worry. Our simple cancellation process makes sure you receive a quick confirmation and fast refunds. 50% Refund if cancelled 15 days before the reporting date. 
 
How to Cancel:
Call us on 8010224422 to cancel your bookings. Bookings made through website may be cancelled through the website. Also, you can email us at bookings@internationalyouthclub.org to cancel your booking any time one month prior to the reporting date.
 
Overview & Things to Know:
Reporting @ Camp: You need to report at the Base Camp International Youth Club – Mcleodganj before 10:00 AM on reporting date.
Accommodation Type: Accommodation in Tents/Camps on Twin or Triple Sharing Basis.
Difficulty Level: Easy to Moderate - Beginners and Intermediate Level of Trekking
Age Limit: Members above 15 years of age may participate in the expedition. No upper age limit.
Things to Carry:
  • T-shirts, Trekking Pants, Windproof jacket preferably with a hood.
  • Warm and thick Fleece, Full-sleeve Woollen sweater, Thermal inner wear (upper & lower), Woollen cap, Woollen gloves, Woollen socks & regular socks, Scarf/muffler (optional) –in the months of November, December, January, February & March
  • Comfortable Trekking/Hiking shoes (shoes with a thick sole are recommended) OR comfortable sports shoes with good grip.
  • Lightweight floaters/sandals/slippers, Raincoat / Poncho.
  • Small light weight towel, Water bottle.
  • Sunscreen Lotion, Sun glasses is highly recommended.
  • Cap to keep the strong sun away from your face.
  • Walking stick / Trekking pole, Sunscreen Lotion, Lip Balm, Torch / Flashlight (with extra batteries).
  • Medicines (if requiring any specific medication).
  • Personal toiletries, Books, if you like reading.
  • Day pack/small bag which you will carry on your back every day and keep your essentials in it.
  • Camera with charged batteries.
  • Please avoid carrying expensive watches, jewellery and electronic items on the trek.
Important Note: International Youth Club takes utmost care to ensure safety of its members during the trekking expeditions. However, in the case of any unforeseen mishaps, International Youth Club will not be liable for any injuries caused or for loss of life. All disputes rising due to the above are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts in New Delhi/Delhi only. All participants would be required to sign an Indemnity Form before the start of the program, without which they would not be allowed to take part in the trekking and expeditions.
 
Terms & Conditions:
  • All bookings are strictly subject to availability and confirmation by payment of Non-refundable Advance.
  • All payments to be made in advance.
  • No Check-in to the Base Camp without full payment confirmation.
  • No Check-in without valid Govt approved ID. Your id will be checked before Check-in.
  • No pickup/drop will be made on­route. No detours will be made for picking up/dropping people.
  • Departure time is given and is fixed. You have to report by that time. It's on you to update your status to trip coordinator. Anyone missing the check-in will not be entertained for refund etc and it will not be International Youth Club’s responsibility. We will try to call you twice before departure. Any phone not getting connected will not be IYC's responsibility.
  • Timings are sacrosanct. Two times follow up will be done on phone. If we are unable to reach/we do not get a communication, we will be departing. No refund will be made for late arrival no matter what the reason for the delay is.
  • We request not to travel with heavy luggage only light luggage or bags are allowed.
  • Management shall not take responsibility of a missing items during trip, hence requested not to travel with too much ornaments, jewellery, cash and other etc.
  • All our packages are ‘group packages’ and same services/items are applicable for each person in the group.
  • Any meal, activity or service not availed by the participants will not be adjusted in the package cost and non-refundable under any circumstances.
  • We do not allow drinking during the expedition. Anyone found drunk at the time of expedition will be refused entry and no amount will be refunded. International Youth Club also reserves the right to discontinue your trip at any point on the grounds of misconduct.
  • We entertain only those persons at the campsite for whom the booking has been made. No additional persons will be entertained under any circumstances until communicated through email at bookings@internationalyouthclub.org
  • We do not have any insurance policy covering the expenses for accident, sickness, loss due to theft or any other reason, guests are advised to seek such insurance arrangements in their home country. We shall not be responsible for any delays & alterations in the programme or expenses incurred­ directly or indirectly due to natural hazards, accident, breakdown of machinery, equipment's, transport, weather condition, sickness, landslides, political closures or any untoward incidents.
  • Numerous factors such as weather, road conditions, the physical ability of participants etc. may dictate itinerary change. We reserve the rights to change any schedule in the interest of safety, comfort & general well-being.
  • We reserve the right to revoke services of anyone not following the instructions of our guide during an activity. We reserve to right for cancellation in case someone misbehaves under influence of alcohol.
